Hands-On Mobile Launches Indie Developer Programme

By Ohad Barzilay 8 October 2007 No Comment

Seems the scene is getting warmer for game developers lately. Hands-On Mobile had just announced today an Indie Developer Program which will "both recognise and promote the best independent developers of mobile games".

Hands-On plans to officially unveil the program at the Independent Developer Event they are planning to hold on November 15th at Hollins Hall in Bollington, Cheshire.

“For several years now, in addition to in-house development, we’ve working with some of the best indie developers to bring great games to a global audience.” said Eric Hobson, President and General Manager EMEA at Hands-On Mobile. “Whilst we continue to work with our current partners we know that there is a lot of untapped talent and potential in the market, which we believe deserves to be seen.”

“We want to offer independent developers the opportunity to bring their games to a global audience. Mobile distribution channels are hugely fragmented and pose a real problem to an independent developer, Hands On can solve that issue for them. There are some real undiscovered gems out there and we want to work with these elite developers to put their games in front of the world’s mobile phone users.”

Hands-On brings Tuna Snax, the developers of Asteroid Zone, as an example of an indie developer they’ve been working with. Hands-On says that through their distribution network Asteroid Zone has been taken by more than 100 carriers worldwide, including many of the difficult to access tier one European carriers.

MobileGD will surely dive deeper into investigating the terms of this program, but you’re all invited to contact Louise Howard at Hands-On for more information and registration to the event.
